Each of those has its own collection, and this is the door to all of them. What they share is that none of it is stamped alloy: everything's cut in 316L stainless steel, silver or 18k gold plated, so the letters stay crisp and the colour stays put, which matters more on a piece that carries a name than on one that doesn't. Engraved pieces are made to order here and take two to three working days. Initials and birthstones ship from stock. If it's a gift, allow for the engraving time and add the box. Everything we finish carries a lifetime guarantee, which on a piece with someone's name on it is the part that matters.
Engraved, initial, birthstone or word?
Engraved when you have a date, a name or a phrase that should be read up close; hearts, bars, discs and tags, cut to order in two to three days. Initial when you want it simple: one letter, Old English or bold, on a chain, a choker or a bracelet. Birthstone when you know the month and nothing else; 5A cubic zirconia, 9mm round or 12mm pear, on a 2mm chain. Word when the word is the point: gothic word necklaces, or a faux leather collar with up to ten letter charms across it.
What size do I need?
Initial necklaces come in Small 41cm, Medium 46cm and Large 51cm. Other necklaces are sold from 35cm to 90cm; 45cm is the collarbone and the safe gift length, and the optional 4 inch extender covers a guess. Chokers are Small (11 to 15 inch necks), Medium (13 to 17) and Large (15 to 19). Bracelets are 16, 18, 20 and 22cm; 18cm fits most women and 20cm most men, with a 4cm extender to cover the gap. Word collars are Small to Medium (11.5 to 15 inch necks) or Medium to Large (14 to 18.5).
Silver or gold?
Look at what they already wear. If it is mixed or you cannot tell, silver, which engraves darker and reads more clearly. Gold is 18k plated over the same steel and reads warmer; engraving on gold shows as a fine silver line.
Are the birthstones real?
No, and we say so. They are 5A cubic zirconia, the top grade, cut in the traditional colour for each month. A mined garnet or sapphire on a steel chain would cost ten times the price; a 5A cubic zirconia gives the colour and the sparkle on a chain that does not tarnish.
Will it tarnish or turn my skin green?
No. Every metal piece here is 316L stainless steel, which neither reacts with air nor carries copper, so it stays bright and marks nothing. Engraving goes into the steel itself, so the letters do not darken the way they do on a plated pendant.
Can I wear it in the shower?
The stainless steel pieces, yes. The faux leather word collars should stay dry.
How long does it take?
Engraved pieces are cut in two to three working days. Word collars have the letters fitted to order and take a few days. Initial and birthstone pieces mostly ship from stock. For a dated occasion, order a week ahead.
What comes in the box?
A black velvet pouch on the steel pieces; an organza bag on the collars. Day collars come gift boxed as standard. On everything else, where a gift box is offered, you'll see it as an option on the product page.
