Cuban Link Chains
Cuban link chain is the one you buy when you want it to look like a chain. Flat, interlocking links that lie close to the skin and catch the light along their whole length. Ask someone to picture a chain and this is the one they see.
This collection is every Cuban we do, in one place: chokers sized to the neck, necklaces from 35cm to 90cm, bracelets in 2cm steps, from a 2mm line to a 12mm piece that's the whole outfit. All 316L stainless steel, silver or 18k gold plated, so it stays the colour you bought whatever you do to it. If you're unsure of the width, 6mm is the most popular. If you already own one, the next is a 3mm to layer inside it or a 10mm to replace it, and the widths line up across chokers, necklaces and bracelets, so a set is just picking the same number three times.
Necklace, choker or bracelet?
The necklace at 45cm or 50cm is the Cuban most people buy first; it sits on the collarbone and needs nothing hanging from it. The choker puts the same link tight at the throat. The bracelet sits beside a watch at 2mm or 3mm and replaces the watch at 10mm. Two of the three in the same width and metal read as a set.
Which width should I get?
2mm and 3mm layer and carry pendants. 4mm and 5mm show on their own and still go under a collar. 7mm is the standard Cuban, flat and obvious. 10mm and 12mm are heavy and worn alone. On the wrist, take one width down from what you wear at the neck.
What size do I need?
Necklaces: 35 to 90cm; 45cm at the collarbone, 55 and 60cm on the chest for the wide ones. Chokers: Small for 11 to 15 inch necks, Medium 13 to 17, Large 15 to 19, extender included. Bracelets: 16 to 22cm; a snug wrist plus 1.5cm, plus another half centimetre for the 10mm and 12mm.
Silver or gold?
The flat face of a Cuban link shows gold well, because the whole surface catches light. Silver reads harder and disappears against black. Same 316L steel underneath; match your other jewellery.
Will it tarnish or turn my skin green?
No. Solid 316L stainless steel on the silver, 18k gold plate over it on the gold. A Cuban is the chain with the most metal on the skin, and this one leaves nothing behind.
Can I wear it in the shower?
Yes, every piece. Rinse after the sea and dry.
