Paperclip Bracelets
A paperclip bracelet, in the wide link. Long, flat, open links from 8mm to 18mm, where each one is the length of your thumbnail, lying flat along the wrist rather than wrapping it. Not the fine paperclip you'll see everywhere; ours is the one that gets asked about.
A wide open link is exactly where cheap plating goes dull, inside the loops where you can't polish, so these are 316L stainless steel, silver or 18k gold plated, and that doesn't happen. Sold in 2cm steps; measure snug just below the wrist bone and add a centimetre, because a wide paperclip lies flattest when it's close to the wrist. If you'd like the 4cm extender we fit it. It's a small collection, because chain this size is slow to come by. We do the same links as a necklace and a choker.
Which link size should I get?
8mm links read as a fine textured chain and stack beside a watch or a cable bracelet. 15mm is the paperclip most people mean, worn on its own or as the top of a stack. 18mm links are long and open and are the bracelet by themselves. The number on the page is the length of one link.
What size do I need?
Tape round the wrist just below the bone, snug, and add 1.5cm. Sizes are 16, 18, 20 and 22cm. A paperclip only fastens at the clasp, since there is no link small enough to hook into, so if you sit between two sizes take the larger one and add the optional 4cm extender for a second fit.
Why choose a paperclip bracelet?
It lies flat and stays flat. Every other link turns a little under a sleeve; a paperclip does not, and it does not knot with a second bracelet, so it is the one to put in a stack with a cable and a Cuban.
Can I add a charm?
Thread a small padlock or an initial through the middle of one link. It sits flat and centred that way, where a bail would hang crooked on a long link.
Will it tarnish or turn my wrist green?
No. Solid 316L stainless steel with nothing plated on it, so the wide flat faces of the links stay bright where a plated paperclip dulls first.
Can I wear it in the shower?
Yes. Nothing in a flat open link holds water.
Is it hypoallergenic?
For most wearers, yes. 316L stainless steel, with a wide flat link against the inside of the wrist.
What comes in the box?
A black velvet pouch. Where a gift box is offered, you'll see it as an option on the product page.
