Initial Bracelets

An initial bracelet, one letter on the wrist. Our blackletter initial as a charm on a heavy oval link chain with a toggle clasp, in silver 316L stainless steel, so the letter stays crisp and the chain stays the colour it started. The alphabet's the same one we use on the necklaces and chokers, drawn from three blackletter typefaces, and it's ours.

It's a small collection, and it's meant to be worn as the only thing on that wrist: the chain's a 10mm oval link with some weight to it, and the letter sits flat against the links rather than dangling. Sold in 2cm steps; measure your wrist snug just below the bone and add a centimetre or two. Pick your letter on the product, or theirs. If you'd rather the initial were at the throat, the initial chokers and necklaces have the full A to Z in both silver and gold.

What size do I need?

Tape round the wrist just below the bone, snug. Small is 16.5cm and fits up to a 15cm wrist. Medium is 19cm and fits up to 17.5cm. Large is 22cm and fits up to 20.5cm. A 10mm chain takes room, so a measurement at the top of a size means the next one up. The toggle version has no extender, so the measurement matters.

How does the toggle fasten?

A bar on one end passes through a ring on the other and sits across it. It fastens with one hand, which a lobster clasp on a 10mm chain does not, it holds a heavy chain better, and it reads as part of the design rather than a fastening hidden at the back.

How is the letter cut?

Into a solid oval tag, 20mm by 15mm, in 316L stainless steel. It is a tag rather than a charm: it sits flat on the chain and reads as part of it. Steel means the cut edges of the letter stay sharp where an engraved plate would soften.

Will it tarnish or turn my wrist green?

No. Solid stainless steel, nothing plated, no copper.

Can I wear it in the shower?

Yes. Towel the tag so water does not sit in the cut of the letter.

Is it hypoallergenic?

For most wearers, yes. Surgical grade steel on the inside of the wrist.

Is it a good gift?
