Figaro Chain Bracelets

A Figaro bracelet has a rhythm to it: three short links, one long, repeated, so the pattern reads from across a table. It's the chain that looks dressed without a pendant, which is why it works so well on a wrist, where a pendant would only get in the way.

Ours run from a fine 3mm, which is a light everyday piece, up to 12mm, where the long links are big enough to be the point. All of them are 316L stainless steel, silver or 18k gold plated, so they don't tarnish, don't go dull in the joints where you can't polish, and stand up to the knocks a bracelet takes. Figaro moves more than a box or foxtail because the long links have room to swing, and that movement is part of how it catches light.

Bracelet lengths go up in 2cm steps. Take a snug measurement just below the wrist bone and add a centimetre or two, more if you like it loose. Want the 4cm extender? It's fitted before it ships. A 5mm or 6mm is the most popular width; if you want it as the only piece you're wearing, go 8mm or above. We do the same chain as a necklace and a choker, so a matching set is a matter of picking the same width.

Which width should I get?

3mm is a fine Figaro that stacks; the pattern is there but small. 5mm is the everyday width and the one to buy if you want a bracelet that shows without weight. 7mm is the standard chunky Figaro. 10mm and 12mm are heavy, worn alone on a bare wrist, and feel their weight. If you are between two, go thinner if you stack and thicker if you do not.

What size do I need?

Measure your wrist just below the bone, snug, and add 1.5cm for a comfortable fit or 2.5cm for loose. Sizes are 16, 18, 20 and 22cm. The 10mm and 12mm take more room round the wrist, so add another half centimetre on those. The optional 4cm extender gives one bracelet two fits.

Figaro or Cuban?

Both are flat chains. A Cuban is uniform; a Figaro alternates three short links with one long, which makes the same width look like more and gives the eye something to follow. If you want plain weight, Cuban. If you want pattern, Figaro. Many people wear one of each on the same wrist.

Will it tarnish or turn my wrist green?

No. Solid 316L stainless steel, no plate, no copper. The wrist is where plated bracelets fail first, and there is nothing here to fail.

Can I wear it in the shower?

Yes. Water resistant. Showers, washing up and the gym are fine.

Is it hypoallergenic?

For most wearers, yes. 316L stainless steel against the inside of the wrist.

What comes in the box?

A black velvet pouch. Where a gift box is offered, you'll see it as an option on the product page.
