Initial Jewellery
Initial jewellery, everything we do with a letter on it. Oversized initial necklaces in Old English blackletter, the same letters as chokers that sit at the throat, and a bracelet for the wrist. This is the collection to start from if you know you want an initial but haven't settled on where to wear it.
The alphabet is ours. We took inspiration from three blackletter typefaces, close enough in style to sit together, and cut every letter in both the oversized and the regular size, so whichever initial you're after, it exists, and it matches the rest of the set. You won't find this alphabet on another site, and the full A to Z is available in both silver and gold.
The lettering is the point. Blackletter has serifs and flourishes that a stamped alloy initial loses within months, so ours are cut in 316L stainless steel and finished in silver or 18k gold plated. The edges stay sharp, the metal stays the colour you bought, and you can wear it every day, in the shower and to bed. Pick a letter on any product and it shows you that one. Necklaces are sold by length in centimetres, from 35cm to 90cm, with the extender fitted if you choose it. Chokers come in Small, Medium and Large by neck measurement with the 4 inch extender built in. Bracelets are sold in 2cm steps. Most initials get bought as a gift, and most of the rest get bought in pairs: your own letter and someone else's, worn at different lengths so each one reads.
Necklace, choker or bracelet?
The necklace is the gift default: 46cm puts the letter just below the collarbone on almost everyone. The choker puts it at the throat, where it is read by everyone, and suits someone who already wears chokers. The bracelet is a heavy 10mm chain with the letter on a tag, for someone who wears chunky chains.
Old English or bold?
Old English is blackletter and reads as a gothic ornament until you are close. Bold reads as the initial from anywhere. Someone who wears black gets Old English; a gift where you are unsure gets bold.
What size do I need?
Necklaces: Small 41cm, Medium 46cm, Large 51cm, with an optional 4 inch extender; Medium for a gift. Chokers: Small for 11 to 15 inch necks, Medium 13 to 17, Large 15 to 19, extender included. Bracelet: Small 16.5cm, Medium 19cm, Large 22cm; a snug wrist plus 1.5cm.
Silver or gold?
Silver reads sharper and goes with black. Gold is 18k plate over the same steel and reads warmer. Match what they wear; silver if you cannot tell. The chokers and bracelet are silver only.
Will it tarnish or turn my skin green?
No. Cast 316L stainless steel, no plate on the silver and 18k gold over steel on the gold. Nothing darkens, nothing has copper in it.
Can I wear it in the shower?
Yes. Wipe the letter after; the serifs hold a drop.
