Men's Silver Chains

Sterling silver tarnishes and wants polishing. Silver-plated chains wear through at the clasp. A silver chain you can forget about has to be steel.

Every chain here is 316L stainless steel, silver all the way through with no plate to wear off, so it stays bright in the shower, at the gym and in bed. Cuban, Figaro, box, belcher and Byzantine, from a fine line that sits under a collar to heavy links you'll notice, all cut and finished by us.

They're sold by length from 35cm to 90cm, so measure a chain you own or where you want it to sit. 6mm is the most popular width. If you'd rather gold, the same chains are in gold. Most men who buy one silver chain end up with a second in a different width.

Is it real silver?

It's 316L stainless steel, which is silver in colour all the way through. It isn't sterling silver, and that's deliberate: sterling tarnishes and needs polishing, and steel doesn't.

Cuban, Figaro or Byzantine?

Cuban is the flat, interlocking link most people picture when they think of a chain. Figaro has a rhythm, three short links and one long, so it looks finished on its own. Byzantine is four links woven together; it's heavy for its width and it's the one people ask about. Box and belcher are the plainer options.

Which width should I get?

6mm is our most popular width. Under 4mm sits under a shirt and pairs with a pendant. 8mm and up is meant to be seen, and 10mm and 12mm are heavy pieces you'll feel. If you already wear a chain, measure its width and go the same or one step up.

What length chain should I get?

Measure a chain you already wear, end to end with the clasp, or wrap a tape where you want it to sit. Our necklaces are sold in centimetres from 35cm to 90cm. Shorter sits at the base of the neck, longer sits on the chest, and where you want it is your call. You can add the optional 4 inch extender on the product if you'd like some room either way.
