Box Chain Bracelets
A box chain bracelet stays where you put it. Square links, each a small cube, so it doesn't twist on the wrist, doesn't kink, and if there's a charm on it the charm stays facing up. It's the bracelet to buy if you've already got something you want to hang from it.
Ours run from a 2mm that vanishes under a charm to a 6mm that's a piece on its own, in 316L stainless steel, silver or 18k gold plated. The edges of those little squares are where plating would wear first; steel doesn't. Sold in 2cm steps: measure snug just below the wrist bone and add a centimetre or two, and if you'd like the 4cm extender we fit it. A few of the charm bracelets can be engraved, which adds two to three working days. We've got it as a necklace and a choker too.
Which width should I get?
2mm as a fine box bracelet for a stack or a small charm. 4mm as the everyday width; it takes a pendant, and the engraved heart bracelets sit on it. 6mm worn alone, square-edged if you want the sharpest look on the page.
What size do I need?
Tape round the wrist just below the bone, snug, and add 1.5cm. Sizes are 16, 18, 20 and 22cm; the optional 4cm extender gives one bracelet two fits. The square 6mm sits a little taller on the wrist, so add half a centimetre on that one.
Round or square box?
Round box links have had their corners taken off; square box links have not. On a wrist you will not see the difference at 2mm or 4mm. At 6mm you will, and the square one is the bracelet to buy if the reason you like box chain is the geometry.
Box or cable?
Both are plain. Cable links are round; box links are square, so a box chain catches more light and looks a touch wider at the same millimetre size. Box reads sharper, cable softer. Both take a pendant.
Will it tarnish or turn my wrist green?
No. Silver box bracelets are solid 316L stainless steel; the gold heart bracelet is 18k plate over that steel. The corners of a square link are where plate wears first, and the silver has none.
Can I wear it in the shower?
Yes. Showers, washing up and the gym are all fine; dry it and the faces come back bright.
Is it hypoallergenic?
For most wearers, yes. 316L stainless steel against the inside of the wrist.
