Chunky Gold Necklaces
A chunky gold chain is meant to be noticed, which is exactly why it can't go brown. Gold-coloured brass does that inside a month; ours is 18k gold plate over 316L stainless steel.
Everything here is 8mm and up: heavy Cuban, Figaro, Byzantine and our fancy links, cut and finished by us. Being straight about it, plate is a surface and it eventually wears at the clasp over years rather than weeks. It's the honest version of a chunky gold chain.
They're sold by length from 35cm to 90cm. Where a heavy chain sits is your call, so measure a chain you already own. If you'd like one you never think about, the silver versions are the harder-wearing choice.
How heavy is chunky?
Everything in this collection is 8mm wide or more. 8mm reads bold without being heavy; 10mm and 12mm are pieces you'll feel all day.
How long does the gold last?
Years rather than weeks with daily wear. It's an 18k plate over 316L steel, not brass, so it doesn't go brown; it wears first where it rubs hardest, usually the clasp.
What length should I get?
Necklaces are sold by length from 35cm to 90cm. Measure a chain you already wear, end to end, or wrap a tape where you'd like it to sit. Where it sits depends where you'd like it to hang, so measure before you choose. The optional 4 inch extender gives you room either way.
Is it waterproof?
Strictly, no jewellery is waterproof. Ours is water resistant: 316L stainless steel doesn't tarnish, so showers, swimming, the gym and sleeping in it are all fine. Rinse it after the sea or a pool and dry it.
What does it come in?
A black velvet pouch. Where a gift box is offered, you'll see it as an option on the product. Day collars come gift boxed as standard.
