Our necklaces are sold in centimetres from 35cm to 90cm, and you can add the optional 4 inch extender on the product if you'd like some room either way. We can't tell you what size someone is, but the chain on their neck can.

Which width?

6mm is the most popular width to start with. If he wears a watch, a bracelet close to the width of the strap tends to look right next to it.

Will it tarnish or turn their skin green?

Not the steel. 316L stainless steel doesn't tarnish and has no copper in it to leave a green line, so it looks the same next year as it does out of the box. It doesn't react with skin for most wearers.
