Waterproof & Tarnish Free Jewellery

When people search for waterproof jewellery, what they mean is jewellery they can shower in, swim in, sweat in and sleep in without it going green, black or dull. Strictly, no jewellery is waterproof. Ours is the next best thing: water resistant, and it stays the colour it was.

Everything here is 316L stainless steel, silver or 18k gold plated, with every chain cut and finished by us. Chains and chokers, bracelets, pendants, day collars and earrings. Steel doesn't tarnish and has no copper to leave a green line, so water, soap and sweat don't touch it. Rinse it after the sea or a chlorinated pool and dry it, and that's all the care it needs.

The things we sell that aren't in here are the ones that want keeping dry: velvet, faux leather and the working brass padlocks. Chokers are sized Small, Medium and Large by neck measurement with the 4 inch extender fitted, necklaces run from 35cm to 90cm, and bracelets come in 2cm steps. If you want the plainest place to start, our plain chains are the pieces most people never take off.

Is it actually waterproof?

It's water resistant. Showers, baths, swimming, the gym and sleeping in it are all fine, and it won't tarnish or change colour. Rinse it after salt water or a chlorinated pool and dry it.

Will the gold come off in water?

Water won't strip it. The gold is an 18k plate over 316L steel, and it wears slowly where it rubs, usually the clasp, over years rather than weeks.

Will it turn my skin green?

No. 316L stainless steel has no copper in it, which is what leaves the green line.

What should I keep dry?

Velvet chokers, faux leather collars and the working brass padlocks. They aren't in this collection, and each says so on its own product.

How do I clean it?

Warm water and a drop of washing up liquid, then dry it with a soft cloth. That's all steel needs.
