Which O ring size should I get?

We fit three ring sizes. A 14mm ring sits on the 2mm to 4mm chains and reads as a small circle at the throat; it is the one for daily wear under a collar. A 25mm ring sits on the 6mm to 8mm chains and is large enough to clip a small padlock to. A 34mm ring sits on the 10mm and 12mm chains and is the full-size gothic O ring; it carries a padlock, a tag or a leash clip without the chain twisting. All three are seamless solid stainless steel, 4mm thick on the larger rings.

Which chain width should I get?

The width follows the ring. 2mm to 4mm chains carry the 14mm ring and layer with a longer necklace. 6mm to 8mm carries the 25mm ring and is the middle of the range, visible but comfortable all day. 10mm and 12mm carry the 34mm ring and are meant to be worn alone; a 12mm Cuban with a 34mm ring has real weight and sits flat and still.

What size do I need?

Measure your neck where the ring will sit. Small fits 11 to 15 inches (28 to 38cm), Medium 13 to 17 inches (33 to 43cm), Large 15 to 19 inches (38 to 48cm). Each choker includes a 4 inch extender so the ring can sit tight at the throat or drop an inch or two. If you are buying for someone and can only guess, Medium with the extender fits most adults.

Will it tarnish or turn my skin green?

No. Chain and ring are 316L stainless steel, so nothing oxidises and nothing leaches copper. The gold versions are 18k gold plated over that steel, not over brass, so the colour holds. A plated O ring choker from a fashion shop goes dull at the ring first because the ring gets handled. Ours does not.

Can I wear it in the shower?

Yes. Stainless steel chain and stainless steel ring are water resistant, so the choker can stay on in the shower, the pool and bed. If you add a padlock to the ring, check what the padlock is made of. Our 24/7 day collar padlocks are full stainless and are fine in water; the chrome plated brass heart padlocks are not.

Is it hypoallergenic?

For most wearers, yes. The ring is the part that sits against the skin longest, and it is solid steel with no plating, so there is nothing to wear through and start a reaction.

How should I care for it?

Rinse it in warm water if it picks up sweat or product, dry it with a cloth, and keep perfume off the gold versions. That is all it needs. The rings do not need polishing and the chain does not need to be stored apart from anything.
