Plain or glitter?

Plain is matte and reads goth; black and red are the two most bought. Glitter has a fine sparkle in the surface and reads party or pastel goth, and works best in the lighter colours, baby pink, baby blue and hot pink. The two finishes are the same 8mm band and the same price, so the only difference is the surface. Glitter sheds a little on the first few wears and then stops.

What size do I need?

Three sizes, each with a 4 inch adjuster chain: Small for 11 to 15 inch necks (28 to 38cm), Medium for 13 to 17 (33 to 43cm), Large for 15 to 19 (38 to 48cm). Put a tape round your neck where the band will sit and buy the size that holds that number near the middle of its range. PU leather has no give, so a borderline measurement goes up a size, not down.

Which colour should I get?

Black, then red, then whichever colour your wardrobe is missing. Baby pink and baby blue against a black outfit are the pastel goth move. Royal blue, teal and purple are for an outfit that needs one colour in it. The metallic gold and silver bands read like a thin strip of metal at the throat and go with a chain of the same tone.

Can I wear it in the shower?

No. Soak PU leather and it goes stiff and marks; soak the glitter finish and it lifts. Unclip it before a shower or a swim. A sweaty night out is fine; wipe the inside of the band and leave it to dry.

Will the clasp tarnish or turn my neck green?

No. The only metal on the choker is the clasp and the adjuster chain, and both are stainless steel. There is nothing plated to wear off and nothing with copper in it.

Is it hypoallergenic?

The band is PU, which most skin ignores, and the stainless steel clasp is hypoallergenic for most wearers. The rash a cheap choker can leave at the back of the neck usually comes from a nickel plated clasp; there is no plating on ours.

How should I care for it?

Hang it, or lay it flat in the bag it came in. Fold it and the crease stays. A damp cloth cleans the band; hairspray and perfume go on before the choker, not after, especially with the glitter finish.

What comes in the box?

An organza bag. Where a gift box is offered, you'll see it as an option on the product page.
