Valentine's Day Jewellery
Valentine's jewellery for someone who'd rather have a padlock than a rose. This collection is the pieces that get bought in February, and most of them have a heart in there somewhere: a heart pendant on a fine chain, a heart padlock on a slip chain, a heart ring on a faux leather collar, a heart plate with a date engraved on it.
It's a mix on purpose, because a gift like this depends on who's getting it. Something small and quiet for someone who doesn't wear much. Something with a lock on it for someone who'll know what it means. Something in twelve colours for someone who likes to choose. The steel pieces are our 316L stainless, silver or 18k gold plated, so whatever you give will still look the same next February. The working heart padlocks are plated brass and should come off for the shower.
If you want words on it, the engraved pieces are made to order and take two to three working days, so leave time. If you're buying a collar or a choker, the size is on the product, and a tape measure round the neck beats guessing. Day collars are made to the inch, from 11 to 19, because a fit that's exact is part of the gift. The gift box is worth adding; it's the first thing they'll see.
What should I buy them?
Match the metal first: look at what they already wear on their hands and ears, and if you cannot tell, silver. Then match the message. A heart says it plainly. A padlock says it with a straight face. An engraved bar or heart says it in your words, and is the one people keep. An initial says you know them. A day collar says something specific, and if you are not sure what, this is not the page for it.
What size do I need?
Necklaces are the safe buy because the length forgives a guess: 45cm sits at the collarbone on almost everyone, and the optional 4 inch extender adds up to 10cm. Chokers need a neck measurement; Medium with its 4 inch extender fits most adults if you have to guess. Bracelets need a wrist measurement plus 1.5cm; 18cm fits most women, 20cm most men. Earrings need no size at all.
How long does engraving take?
Two to three working days, then dispatch. For Valentine's, order by the first week of February and it is there in time. Everything else ships from stock.
Will it tarnish?
No. The stainless steel pieces do not oxidise and contain no copper, so they stay bright and leave no green mark. The gold is 18k plated over the steel and keeps its colour. Two exceptions: the heart padlock pieces carry a chrome plated brass padlock and should be kept dry, and the faux leather collars are dry-wear only.
Can I get it gift wrapped?
Every piece arrives in a black velvet pouch. Day collars come gift boxed as standard. On everything else, where a gift box is offered, add it on the product page and it comes ready to hand over. Engraved pieces can carry a second line on the back if you want the date on it.
What if they already have everything?
A matching pair of chains, one each, in two lengths, is the answer. Or a padlock for one of you and the key on a chain for the other.
