Silver Bracelets
A silver bracelet takes more punishment than anything else you wear. Desks, door frames, sinks, the inside of a jacket sleeve all day. That's why ours are 316L stainless steel rather than plated anything: the surface is the metal all the way through, so there's nothing to chip or wear off. It stays silver. You can shower in it, wash up in it, sleep in it, and it looks the same in five years.
This collection is every silver bracelet we do. Plain chains in cable, Cuban, Figaro, foxtail, box and belcher, from a 2mm strand to 18mm pieces that are nearer a cuff. Our fancy links, the knot and coffee bean constructions you won't find elsewhere. And the day collar bracelets, which are the wrist version of a day collar, worn for the same reasons and finished with the same care.
Bracelets are sold by length in centimetres in 2cm steps. Wrap a tape snug round your wrist just below the bone and add a centimetre or two for how you like it to hang. If you choose the 4cm extender we fit it before it ships. A few of the pendant bracelets can be engraved, which adds two to three working days. Most people start with a 4mm or 5mm and buy a heavier one once they've stopped noticing the first.
Which silver bracelet should I get?
A 2mm or 3mm chain if it is going next to a watch. A 5mm to 7mm chain if it is the only thing on the wrist most days. A 10mm or 12mm chain, or a charm bracelet, if it is meant to be the piece. Silver reads gothic at any width, so the choice is about how much wrist you want covered.
What size do I need?
Tape round the wrist just below the bone, snug, and add 1.5cm for comfort or 2.5cm for loose. Sizes are 16, 18, 20 and 22cm; the engraved bracelets come in Small 16.5cm, Medium 19cm and Large 22cm. A 10mm or 12mm chain takes half a centimetre more. The optional 4cm extender gives one bracelet two fits.
Silver steel or sterling silver?
Steel, for a bracelet. Sterling is 7.5% copper and tarnishes and marks skin, and a wrist is the place it does both fastest. 316L stainless steel has no copper and does not react with air, so it looks the same colour and stays that way.
Will it tarnish or turn my wrist green?
No. Solid 316L stainless steel with nothing plated on it. No oxidising, no copper.
Can I wear it in the shower?
Yes. Showers, washing up, the gym and the sea. Rinse after salt water.
Is it hypoallergenic?
For most wearers, yes. Where a watch strap leaves a rash, a bracelet in this grade of steel will not.
What comes in the box?
A black velvet pouch. The day collar bracelets include a gift box. On the rest, where a gift box is offered, you'll see it as an option on the product page.
