Foxtail Chain
Foxtail chain moves like rope. Dozens of small links folded over each other into a round cord with no front or back, so it catches light whichever way it turns and never lies wrong. People pick it up expecting something braided and find steel.
This collection is every foxtail we do: chokers sized to the neck with the extender fitted, necklaces from 35cm to 90cm, bracelets in 2cm steps, from a 2mm line up to 8mm, which has real presence without being a chunky chain. Every one in 316L stainless steel, silver or 18k gold plated. Foxtail is dense for its width, so a 4mm wears heavier than a 4mm cable would, and it doesn't tangle with a second chain, which makes it the easiest of ours to layer. The widths line up across the three, so a set is picking the same number.
Necklace, choker or bracelet?
The necklace at 45cm puts the braid on the collarbone where it shows most. The choker puts it at the throat and pairs with a plain 2mm chain below. The bracelet sits next to a steel watch and is the cheapest way to find out if the link suits you. Two of the three in the same width read as a set.
Which width?
2mm and 3mm are fine and flexible, for layering or a light pendant. 5mm is worn alone and has enough weight to sit still. 8mm is worn as the piece and reads heavier than the number suggests, because the braid adds body.
What size do I need?
Necklaces: 35 to 90cm, 45cm at the collarbone. Chokers: Small for 11 to 15 inch necks, Medium 13 to 17, Large 15 to 19, extender included. Bracelets: 16 to 22cm; a snug wrist plus 2cm rather than 1.5cm, because a round chain sits taller on the wrist than a flat one.
Foxtail or wheat?
Same family. Wheat has a slightly more visible V in the weave; foxtail is a smoother twist. They wear the same, and we list them together.
Will it tarnish or turn my skin green?
No. Silver foxtail is solid 316L stainless steel; gold is 18k plate over it. A braid has more surface than a flat chain and would tarnish first if it could tarnish. It cannot.
Can I wear it in the shower?
Yes. After the sea, rinse it under the tap, because salt sits in the braid, and dry it.
Is it hypoallergenic?
For most wearers, yes. 316L stainless steel.
What comes in the box?
