Dainty Gold Necklaces
A fine gold chain is the one that shows cheap plating first: it snaps, it goes brown, it leaves a mark. Ours are 18k gold plated over 316L stainless steel, so the chain underneath is strong and doesn't discolour.
These are our gold chains at 4mm and under: cable, box, foxtail and fine Cuban, cut and finished by us. They're light enough to wear under anything, to layer, or to carry a small pendant. The plate is the honest version of gold and wears first at the clasp over years. The same chains in silver are in our dainty necklaces.
They're sold by length from 35cm to 90cm; measure where you'd like it to sit. If you're planning to layer two, keep them at least 5cm apart.
How long does the gold last?
Years rather than weeks with daily wear. It's an 18k plate over 316L steel, not brass, so it doesn't go brown; it wears first where it rubs hardest, usually the clasp.
What length should I get?
Necklaces are sold by length from 35cm to 90cm. Measure a chain you already wear, end to end, or wrap a tape where you'd like it to sit. Where it sits depends where you'd like it to hang, so measure before you choose. The optional 4 inch extender gives you room either way.
Can I hang a pendant on it?
Yes. The 2mm and 3mm chains take a small pendant well; box chain holds it facing forward.
Is it waterproof?
Strictly, no jewellery is waterproof. Ours is water resistant: 316L stainless steel doesn't tarnish, so showers, swimming, the gym and sleeping in it are all fine. Rinse it after the sea or a pool and dry it.
What does it come in?
A black velvet pouch. Where a gift box is offered, you'll see it as an option on the product. Day collars come gift boxed as standard.
